On Sunday 2 October Mogsy (Morag Ford) from Bude successfully completed her 42 mile Ultra Marathon in memory of her close friend Bernadette Inniss from Holsworthy in 24 degrees heat!
Bern sadly passed away earlier this year just before her 42nd birthday from a rare cancer of the sinuses.

Mogsy said "It was a fantastic day but I didn't expect a heatwave in October - the last 12 miles were really hard too as my knee went but determination got me there!   The support on the day was awesome and there were many highlights including the great support from everyone running, cycling, cheering me on, the Holsworthy fire brigade joining me and driving behind me through the town, visiting the cemetery, hearing the cheering as I approached Elements Hotel & Bistro and the fabulous welcome home reception there - many thanks again to Elements for putting on the event."

Mogsy has so far raised £3,900 and nearly reached her target of £4,200.42 raising funds for FORCE Cancer Charity working locally to support anyone affected by cancer.

Mogsy would like to thank all those who have sponsored her and supported her on the day and said "Bern really wanted to support this charity who helped her so much - I know she would be very proud of my achievement and all the support I've had from friends and family."
