Then the Great Rats Random Relay is for you (and your friends). We've put together a route that will take runners on a figure of eight route both North and South from Bude between the sea and the A39, starting and finishing at the Rats Nest, the Pitch & Putt hut adjacent to Crooklets car park in Bude.
Teams can be 3 or more and the legs range from 3km to 7km over varying terrain. Your team can cover the whole course (roughly 40 miles) or the shorter version (roughly 20 miles) and there's no time limit, although getting back before dark would be a good idea!
Each leg has detailed map & instructions to help you along and ensure you don't get too lost but half the fun is discovering new paths and places. Note - there will be no marshals - self navigation will be required and each team must be self sufficient. Suggestions about footwear and terrain details are provided but since it's a Rats event expect hills, mud and great fun.
So get together a team of like minded lunatics and fill out the entry form below, there's no fee to pay (BUT if you wish £5 donation to go to Bude Sea Pool to be handed in
with the form please) - and no prizes either! (other than the feeling of success every finisher will get).
