This was the second year for Bude's Junior Triathlon but with a big change to the route from last year's event.
The Cycle and Run sections of the race were held on the Downs (not totally sure why they are called downs when there are some serious 'ups', I'm sure the children would vouch for that!).
The changes provided an extremely safe contained environment for the young athletes and afforded an excellent all round view point from the flag pole.
The race started with the Swim, as last year, at the sea pool with the various age groups swimming either 1, 2 or 3 lengths before climbing the steps to the Bike Transition Area. The Cycle stage followed with 2 tough laps of the Downs before a single lap Run to the Finish line.
Competitors could take part as a team of 3 or, if inclined, make a very impressive individual effort.
