A fine summer Wednesday evening for the Bude Lifeboat 6 mile off road race
at Bude Rugby Club
10 Rats took up the Challenge
Starting at the Bude Rugby Club House and running round the pitch then off
along the canal path and up onto the fields, running was good and firm under
foot. At the 2 mile mark we had a long climb up and over the fields which
certainly sorted us out, eventually we levelled out and then climbed some
more!!. Reaching the top the runners had a fairly level run and then started
to head down, grabbing a quick drink (thanks to those brave helpers with those
silly plastic bendy cups) and then re-joining the canal path for a fast run
for home. The towpath seems to go on and on, then a sharp turn right
and you’re over the bridge and home, with a great crowd of people to cheer you in.
Congratulations to all who took part.
