Monday 8th April – 10k

We all know there are a few of us crazy individuals running throughout the recent snow, ice, boulder sized-hail, gale force winds and sub-zero temperatures (and that was just on Tuesday…) but can you imagine braving those conditions for a run when you’ve never run before? On Monday 8th April, 22 amazing people conquered the elements and completed a 10k 6.2 miles) run, the final piece in their “Zero – 10k”, 10 week beginners course with Bude RATs.

Their attitude, motivation, sense of humour, dedication and support for one another has meant they’ve acheived what many of them initially felt was the impossible. The last 10 Monday nights have been a real time of celebration, as each runner reached another milestone on their own running journey. The atmosphere has been so infectious that many RATs have come along to support and enjoy running with the group.

The group plans to continue running together on Monday nights.

And as a reward for all their hard work, Bridget organised a Mud Run on Good Friday. Photos of the day, including the cakes can be found below. Meanwhile here are a few snaps from Monday 8th !

First the water jump. Any one not completing this has to go back and do it again – Annie!
