I started running in 2016 a year after having my daughter as a way to lose weight. I ran on my own - with no idea of how to manage my pace and what shoes to wear and, not surprisingly, I hated it! Eventually a friend (Lisa Tame) and I joined Bude RATs at the end of 2016, and it is the best thing I could have done for my running. They are a very friendly and encouraging group of people who have pushed me on to not only running the London Marathon but quite a few ultramarathons too. My favourite type of run is with a group of friends, on the Cornish coast path - magic! I was offered the opportunity to attend an England Athletics LiRF course recently to train as a RunLeader, and am looking forward to helping others catch the running bug.
