Race results for 2023:

The Bude Pirate run is 8ish miles of outstanding trails and coastal scenery and lots of hills.

Starting and finishing outside The Crooklets Inn.  

A Cornwall Multi Terrain Series race.

Piratical fancy dress is encouraged.

​

​Charity - A substantial proportion of the money raised from the race will be given as a donation to the Bude Surf Life Saving Club.

Parking - Public Parking is available in the Crooklets Beach Car Park adjacent to the race start on Crooklets Road and registration is at the Bude Life Saving Club.  Parking charges will apply.   There is also some parking at Rosies Café, again parking charges apply.  Please don't park on the race route.

Entry information 

​Entrants can adjust and swap their entry up to the closing date for entry on 3rd September 2023.  This must be done by the competitor on the SiEntries system.  After the closing date for entries, no alterations are allowed and no swaps or entries on the day are permitted.  Any runners found to be running on another runner's details will be disqualified. 

Sorry, we do not offer refunds for race entries.

NEStart and Finish

 

 The Start and Finish areas will be on Maer Downs. The start will be at 10:30 am, with the race heading away from the beach.

Route 

 

The route is mostly off road with a couple of short sections of road.  A wonderful mixture of coast path, fields, wooded areas and small sections of road.  If it has been wet, the route will be slippery and muddy.

Prizes

 

The presentation of prizes will take place outside Bude Surf Life Saving Club as close to 13:00 as possible

- First 3 Males / First 3 Females. 
- First Male Affiliated Team (4 to count) / First Female Affiliated Team (4 to count). 
- First Male under 35 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65-69 /70 and over 
- First Female under 35 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 /65-69/70 and over

Note that only 1 individual prize will be awarded per winner – overall prize winners will not be eligible for age category prizes.

The Race was held under ARC licence 23/0278

​

Baggage -  There will be no baggage storage facilities to minimise congestion.  Please leave any belongings in your vehicle.  The car park is near registration (Bude Surf Life Saving Club) so you can drop things off before making your way to the start.

​

Water - There will be two water stations at approximately 3 and 5 miles.  Water will also be available at the finish.  If you think that you require more hydration than this, please bring your own supply with you.  

​

Toilets - There are public toilets at the Crooklets Beach Car Park which should also be open.

Showers - Outdoor showers are available at the rear of the Toilet block at Crooklets Car Park.  These are open air showers operated by the Council, charges apply.

​

Important Information - As the event is part of the Cornwall Multi Terrain series rules state that no headphones can be worn during this event. Use of headphones will lead to disqualification. No runners with dogs are allowed.

A unique 8ish mile race through the beautiful Cornish countryside and Coast Path - organised by our very own Bude RATs members.
